Thank you Card for Teacher, Number Two

Hi guys, Tegan finished her first year at school last week, she has had three teachers/ assistants who have looked after her class, so I have made some cards for Tegan to give them,

I love these Lemoncraft music letters - basic papers and thought they went fabously with my handmade flowers, I distressed the edges and added a little machine sewing,
I Layered them around this gorgeous Scrapiniec Royal Park - circle frame, I added a piece of paper from the same collection in the center too,

I then added some of the fabulous twine in yellow and green to finish my card off,
I then used a mold for the bird decoration made with air dry clay,

Check out these and all the new fabulous products in Monika's online store,

Summertime is here!! plus don't give up!!!

Well guys, we had summer this week for all of two days before the rain came back complete with thunder too, yuk!! then back to the sunshine, yeah!! so this is a card I have made for the Summertime theme we have going on this week over at
I have also done a little tutorial on how I placed my stamps to build the scene,

So I started off with a piece of water colour card stock, I then  stamped Tilda - playing in the water first, then with the stamp on my stamping block made a mask of her using a post it note,
this is because I then wanted to use the waves but I wanted them to look in the distance behind her, so I didn't want the lines of the waves in front of her legs, but I did this later when I had stamped my next lot of stamps,
I used the postcard stamp then just as I was taking it away from my card stock it fell off my stamping block and landed face down on my card, so rather then waste it I pressed down on the stamp and it gave a nice background effect, so then I used the anchor stamp on the top of this in a first generation stamping to make it stand out, then taking a different coloured ink I stamped the compass above,
Using the same ink I then stamped some of the bubbles/circles, here you can see I also made a mistake and got some of the edge of the stamp showing, see this card really wasn't going well, lol
but not to be put off I had the idea of how to finish off my card and hide it, in the mean time I cut out the mask of Tilda, then I used some blue ink to make the waves effect as mentioned above,
so after removing the mask and colouring my scene with distress re-inkers, I made up my card with the addition of some cheesecloth to hide the mistake shown above and to give the look of a fishing net complete with the 3D effect shells, he he

I also added some of the gorgeous flowers and a hinge clip on this side too, I couldn't resist using my favourite Tilda tag again too along with some of another fave of mine the fabulous vintage seam binding,

I covered the waves with Stickles then hints of white Gesso when the Stickles had dried, I again used the white opaque pen on her cheeks, and for decoration some of the really useful film strip, cute Scrapiniec Babyland - camera and one of the decorative foam bouquets too,
All product links below!!
So hopefully this just goes to show, don't give up when mistakes happen, you can usually make them work for you!!! lol

On your Special Dy

Hi guys, I recently just had to buy some of the gorgeous flower stamps by Altenew, I had been eyeing them up for some while as who doesn't love flowers and  as I love to colour as you know, and these are fabulous for colouring, either with my copics or distress inks etc, I find it  so lovely at night to  just relax and colour my images, lol
they can of course be layered too using the layers that come with the sets, using just ink pads, so they are very versatile and adaptable, I  just love them!!
Over on the Altenew blog they have a July challenge going with an inspiration picture shown below and with a Wedding Theme too, so I based my card on that,
My flowers are from the Peony Bouquet collection leaves stamped in Memento New Sprout and the flowers in Toffee Crunch and this time I have coloured them in with my copics, then fussy cut them out as I haven't got any dies to match yet!!

I started off with a stencil from Love to craft and Create which I added some modeling paste too then used some frantage over the top while it was still wet, this adds some lovely effect, I then added some natural fibres on top, then finally I layered my cut out flowers, layering them with Pinflair glue and 3d foam,
Altenew have some gorgeous wording stamps but they are on my wish list too, so I have used one from my stash,
The top layer of my card is a linen style cardstock which I have coloured with distress inks, distressed the edges then machine sewn, I coloured the base layer of my card the same way too,
Too finish off my card I added some watered down white Gesso, then some tiny opaque beads here and there too,

copics used:
YR000, Y21, Y26, Y28
RV10, RV91, RV93, RV95
BG93, G21, YG63, BG96

Butterflies are a sign of summer

Well I think they are, probably that's why I've not seen any lately lol,
the weather here is awful, rained everyday for weeks even when it's supposed not too, so I made this butterfly card to cheer myself up,
Edited:::: yeah we finally have some gorgeous weather for all of two days, so have managed to see a butterfly after all,
today's my turn to show you some inspiration for Love To Craft And Create
This gorgeous Wycinanka - summer wedding - decor with butterfly is finished off with  some Frantage aged ivory embossing enamel, this looks fab in real life as it adds texture and hints of a metallic look here and there,

The Gorgeous papers I chose to tie in are from Craft and You design from the 6" x 6" Lavender Garden collection, I so love this collection so I  have ordered more!!
I cut out some tags with a die from my stash then made a bow with some of the fabulous twine Monika has in her store,

For the other dies in the deeper purple I used the paper that was in the chipboard packages, so a little recycling went on here too,
I finished it off with a metal arrow on the butterfly to tone in with the metalic hints on the butterfly from the Frantage and some of the totally gorgeous fabric flowers and lace from Monika's store too, all links below,

do check out  all the gorgeous new goodies in store!!
