Button Up at The Ribbon Girl

Hi guys, It's time for the Magnolia Only challenge at The Ribbon Girl,

As usual the prize for the winner gets a £10,00 TRG gift voucher and a Magnolia Stamp from Magnolia too, yeah!!

I've used some fabulous snowflake buttons on Santa's hessian sack and also on the front of the sleigh,
I made up the 3d sleigh from Tando Creative, using some different papers from Maja Design, then added a mini snowflake stencil/mask from there too using modeling paste, when set i added some of the beautiful pearls from TRG, on the top edge I used some 30mm  shabby white  ruffled ribbon and finished it off with a Barley Sugar Dahlia flower, will list all the products below,
Santa is of course by Magnolia from an older collection, but I love him and he makes an appearance every year!! lol,
This time he's coloured with my distress re-inkers,

I made a sack for his presents to go in out of some fabby Hessian fabric, cut at 21cm wide by 15cm tall, turn under to the wrong side on the width edge about 1 cm and sew down, take the long edges together and sew a seam, turn right side out and you have the start of a Santa sack, run some long running stitches about 2cm down from the top and gather together, fasten off securely, then decorate with ribbon etc, I used dark brown Ric Rac then added some of the Silver twine on top and tied it in a bow on the snowflake Button,

By not securing the running stitches you could make this a working Santa Sack,

I also used a snowflake button with the twine as I said before on the front of the Sleigh, some cheescloth inside to keep  Santa's toes warm and a doiley on the back for a cover for his head,

The back of the sleigh has the same pearl trim on the bottom edge, ruffled ribbon on the top and some fantastic frosted brown cones too,
The chipboard snowflakes are again from Tando Creative, painted with gesso then when dry a ivory pearl added as the other side,
For the sleighs, ski's? I added texture sand  then when dry painted with Gesso too,
front view again,

I'm back from my hols soon, son's still at home so hope it's in one piece!!!, lol

Book Cover

Hi guys, I'm still on my hols so hope this has scheduled like it should have, lol
For my Tando Creative post today I want to show a Book Cover I have used from the squared off kit,

I started by adhering the sides to the base and then stenciling on the sequin waste and cogs group mask with modeling paste, when dry I adhered the chipboard corners, I then painted the whole thing with white gesso, when dry I added a few bits of dry wall tape for a little added  texture, this I then sprayed with some of the fabulous Deco Art misters, these are awesome so rich in colour, I dried these with my heat tool using a paper towel to blot the colours a little too as this also adds a hint of texture to the design, too finish off the sides I added a little clear stamping with a black archival ink pad and a Kaisercraft texture stamp,
The middle design was made using the book plate which comes with the set as a base then layering up chipboard, metal embellishment,  a flower and a light bulb from hubbies stash, lol
when i had stuck them all down i gave them all a coat of white gesso then when dry painted them with some Inka Gold waxes, the colours weren't quite what i wanted so i then went over the top with some silks paint from my stash, then the letters were given the same clear stamp treatment as on the sides,

I finally added a few micro beads here and there too,

Anything Goes at Tando Creative

Hi guys, I'm on hols at the moment but hopefully this has popped onto my blog,
For the theme anything goes at tando Creative I chose to do a  Tando Creative 3 Panel wall Art,

I wanted the tree to look like it had depth behind so coloured my pieces in layers for a ground effect, horizon and sky,
I started by first applying scrunched up tissue paper to my pieces, then when dry sprayed some Prima Bloom paints in Antique Gold, Vintage Metal, Gold Foil, Glistening Waves and lime Wedge,

The tree I first stippled Decoart Texture sand on, then when dry added some of the sprays then highlighted them with Inka Gold waxes in Silver and Turquoise,
I shaped the flowers first by hand then painted them with stamp paint in copper,
the butterflies were given the Ink Gold wax treatment too,

Come and join us in any of the themes this month for the chance to win some lovely products from Tando Creative

Animal Magic

Hi guys, I'm going on my hols today with hubby, the first time we've flown abroad in 12 years!!!,
gulp, deep breath, lol
I've made a card today that is combining two of my DT's,

Animal magic,
Any animal or creature is allowed,

Say it with flowers,

I've coloured this adorable Stempleglede - vintage garden stamp, with my distress re-inkers and added a few liquid pearl dots too,
I made it with my B-I-L Birthday in mind, so have tried to keep it manly (ish) he he,
The papers are again from Maja Design, and the gorgeous flowers and paper leaves which i have used to tie in with the colours of my stamp are of course from Sweet Lilac,
The small chipboard leaf is by Tando Creative and I have stained it with two colours of distress ink,

I have hopefully posted a few more scheduled posts, while we're away too,
catch up with you later,

New Home

Hi guys, I'm back today with a project I've done for
Tando Creative, the theme this week is a colour theme,
I have used a gorgeous 3D mini Birdhouse and Mini birds and branches too,

I decided to go shabby chic with this one, the papers used are from Maja design and after adhering to the shapes I put it together,
The roof I stippled DecoArt texture sand too, then when dry added my paints,

I did similar for the 3D bird, adding a tiny pearl for it's eye and a couple of feathers for the tail,
The branch I painted with some silks in chestnut brown,

I added a piece of coloured cardstock on the base and some flowers from Sweet Lilac, a butterfly cut from some paper brings in the colour theme too,
